One and a half years after construction commenced on the Bahrain Marina Project, Bahrain Marina Development Company has shared a significant update. The company has appointed United Marine Trading (UMT) to construct a new superyacht-dedicated marina.

UMT, specialists in marina design, construction, and maintenance of, will build floating docks that will accommodate up to 167 bessels with a maximum length of 50 meters. In addition, the marina will include ancillary yachting amenities such as dedicated ket-ski parking spaces and a fuel station. The company has developed multiple projects such as Qatar’s The Pearl Marina and Ras Al Barr Resort in Bahrain.

This announcement coincides with the launch of the project’s Marina Club, which is part of the development’s first phase.

The new marina marks one of the three developments planned by the Kingdom in an effort to address the surging demand for berthing. Bahrain currently offers two superyacht marinas, accommodating vessels between 24-76 meters in length.

Bahrain’s plans to establish a thriving superyacht destination joins other emerging markets in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan, who have built infrastructure and modernized regulations to promote superyacht tourism.

“This marina marks a major milestone in positioning Bahrain as a premier global marine destination. By developing a cutting-edge facility that meets international standards, we aim to attract marine enthusiasts from across the region and beyond, reinforcing Bahrain’s standing as a key player in the luxury maritime sector. This world-class marina will introduce advanced marine technologies and services comparable to those in the world’s most prestigious marinas, further boosting the Kingdom’s tourism and economic growth,” said Mr. Khalid Najibi, Chairman of Bahrain Development Marina Company.
